I love it when people use engaging analogies - I do feel a bit intimidated by my challenges at times, so to combat that, I just tell myself to think Big, but start Small - everyday I take small steps to establish my consulting business. It's a slow process, but at least it's in progress. Sorry, I didn't mean to go Jesse Jackson on you... :)

Thanks, Brad, It's really sad when people "strike out" before they ever step up to the plate. But, I believe God always wants us to hit home-runs no matter how afraid we are to step up. That's why He gives us so many opportunities to play in the game!

Rod,

Awesome analogy! This is such a great way to explain it. How many times do we forfeit the game without ever stepping up to the plate?

There's a saying in sports used by sportscasters all the time, "and that's why we play the game." It's inevitably said after every upset. On paper, a team had no chance, but somehow they still pulled off the upset. It happens almost every weekend in sports, and we are still just as surprised every time it happens.

Just hit the ball already. I love it!

Brad

P.S. Your bonus verse of 2 Timothy 1:7 is one of my favorite verses.

Rod, great post. Fear is often the silent killer of our dreams, because it works from the inside out. Sometimes we don't even realize the we have given into the temptation to allow circumstances to negatively influence choices that require decisiveness or courage.

Keep encouraging people to not allow fear or anything else to prevent them from accomplishing great achievements.

Rod, thanks for a great post. The key is being able to break things down, have a good game plan, and to execute consistently. This is easier said than done. But I have too often limited myself. Like you said, you dreamed, and look at what is coming to pass! Let me know when your new movie release is coming out: I want to be among the first to see it :)

WOW! Thank you for this awesome post. Often times it is so hard for us to admit that we are scared but the courage to move forward starts when you have the courage to admit your fear.

Yes, there are times when I have been scared of success. Most recently God has given me a part of the Plan that I did not think I was prepared for. Then I remember all the years of training I had with my pasts jobs and my years of work at my former church. So I am putting it all to good use now.

The organization of FEAR will not be victorious in my life :)
