I love @ProBlogger and Darren Rowse. Were you involved with his 31 Days to a Better Blog Challenge? I enjoyed it and have his workbook bound professionally here in my office. I especially like the part about finding where your people are in the web world. For me it's Active Rain, which is a social network for mortgage and real estate professionals. I have a presence on there but I need to grow it more. Thanks for posting this! :)

That's right Trina, you need to have complete control over the homebase. When I started The Success Center, I started with a free Wordpress website which is still up but not "active." Then I switched to self hosting because I needed to control the look, feel, and accessibility of my brand on the web. And I wouldn't have the wonderful and growing community that I have today without taking that step.

I agree that the viisuals and the explanation were excellent. The idea that your homebase needs to be something that you have complete control over really hit home. I had a website that someone else was hosting. I could not get into my account and the website was valueless to me because it was not updated for a year.
