Want to Build a Successful Blog?

On Wednesday April, 7th I had the honor of speaking at the Social Expedition Breakfast that meets up monthly here in Memphis, TN.  The room was filled with entrepreneurs and small business owners who either have started a blog or were thinking of making the jump.

I’ve uploaded my presentation for your viewing pleasure. Also, check out Dave Barger produced an awesome write-up of my presentation. He mentions a lot of the things I talked about that didn’t make it into the power-point.

If you would like to see some pictures of me in action, head over to my Facebook Fan Page and take a look around. Enjoy it and let me know what you think in the comments below.

haha @ “Rod-inator” Thanks man, it was good – and, if you wish real hard . . . I just might re-publish the presentation with a little bit of audio :-)

Great slide show. I also really like your blog lay out. I am in the middle of going from a blogpsot account to my own website. Your website gave me some really great ideas. I am just finished listening to a book called: “Crush It” and it talks a lot about web layout and you have it right.

Rod, it's almost as if we were there! The two points I am hoping to grow into my blog as I bootstrap along are: 1) better design (Woo Themes, maybe? ;-) and 2) scalability. Do you think you may be writing a future post about scalability? I already have some ideas of my own, but I don't know if you would be willing to share your ideas (or is this something you'd have to shoot me first before you share? ;) Thanks for the great content, as always.

Thank you Dan, I really appreciate that man. If I can help you in anyway, just ask.

Yea, Steve, I definitely recommend Woo Themes. And you know what? I think I will explore the idea of scalability in a future post. And, I'd love to help you flesh out your ideas, we can chat over the phone or via email. You know, my door is always open!

No problem Rod. I do have a question for you. I have a blogspot.com account
but want my own website. Who do you go through for hosting and web design? I
am having a hard time finding the best choice. I have looked into
godaddy.com, bluehost.com and a few others. if you can help direct me into
the best direction for easy hosting and web design, I would really
    appropriate it.

    Thank you,
    Dan Black
